Business and Board Development
Most corporations have a board of directors in which the president reports. These boards meet periodically to review the organizations successes, financials, operations, and strategic planning. These boards are comprised of leaders and experts that are the thread of the organization they represent.
For your organization, there is absolutely no reason why your advisory board should not be grown and organized to produce the best results for a return of investment. Solely from a business development perspective the board is a fantastic door opener. From a functional strategic planning perspective, the creating of 8-12 minds to bounce thoughts and ideas off of enables an organization to reach higher and achievable professional levels of success.
This revolutionary organic growth philosophy will enable an organization to foster new ideas, validate position, clarify growth plans, and distinguish your company as a leader in the industry.
JHA will work with you to create a list of peers, best customers and experts to serve on your Advisory Board of Directors.
This is crucial in the development process. The board should not typically exceed 12 people and should not be entirely composed of people we (collectively) know. The top stakeholders are always an important addition because we will solidify our relationship with them and create additional opportunities based upon this inclusion.
Expert is a broad category, but based upon your businesses needs moving forward, this may include an elected official, government leader, industry leader, or expert in a particular field that will aid in your organizations credibility and future successes with clarity and specific focus.
Once this leadership has been established, it will be advised to list these directors on letterhead and/or the internet home page, showing leadership of the organization. In addition, from an investor perspective, this credibility is priceless!
Because of JHA’s connections, relationships and extensive board experience, we will assist in catapulting your organization to the next level. If desired, Jim Hayden will be issued business cards denoting Chairman of the Board. As an additional business development enhancement, JHA will promote the organization publically. Note: We will only accept one specific business type to avoid any conflicts of interest.
JHA will organize the Board Meetings, set the agenda, take minutes, and follow-up with each board member following each meeting.
Venue is extremely important and respectful of your board members time and talent. This will be carefully managed throughout the process.
The agenda is crucial and we will craft this document together with the goal to create best opportunity for growth moving forward. It is imperative to educate the board members but not bore them.
Minutes are key and without direction from the board and business advice listened to, is a waste of time. Listening carefully on not only what is being said but how it is said will mean a great deal as we delineate through the discussions after the meeting.
Personally following up with each board member is crucial. How our meeting met the board members expectation, was it what they expected, what did they learn, how was the venue, and what can we improve upon. This will enhance their individual relationships with the organization and allow us to grow together.
